Intense Pulsed Light / Laser Course

This 5-day course is a must for all therapists and operators of Intense Pulsed light machinery. This course will cover participants for when regulation comes into effect.

This course will give qualified participants all the theoretical knowledge, legal and OHS knowledge required to use all light technology and wavelength equipment available to the beauty industry.

Knowledge of electrical treatments, skin science and skin biology and knowledge of advanced facials is a pre requisite for this course.

The content of the course will include apply knowledge of light and wavelength Technology to Beauty Treatments. The unit covers all theory knowledge of light and wavelength equipment and will give you the ability to differentiate between all the different equipment and technologies available to the beauty industry.

An in depth study of the light spectrum, what ,where in the skin and what can be used on which skin type for such treatments as photo rejuvenation, permanent hair reduction, treatment of pigment and vascular disorders including thread veins on the legs. Advanced techniques for rejuvenation will also be covered.

Apply safe work practices with light and wavelength technology, all OHS required to protect both therapists and clients. Address legal issues regarding use of equipment by Therapists of all light and wavelength technologies. This unit covers all state laws regarding use of equipment, TGA approval of equipment and impending legislation.
All units will be assessed.

Learn the art of using esthetic IPL or Photo Rejuvenation treatment for all types of cosmetic procedures.
This course covers both theory and hands-on training with the first infrared programmable wavelength device for hair removal lasers. This corse provides in-depth theoretical and hands-on training for professionals interested in entering the booming medical esthetic market. Each participant will acquire proficiency in performing cosmetic treatments using intensive pulse light (IPL).
By the end of the course the participant will have the knowledge necessary to develop skills in assessment, treatment, and client follow-up.

Who are these courses suitable for & aimed at?

Nursing & Healthcare Professionals and experienced Beauty Therapists. The basic course is aimed at delegates new to the use of IPL and those with basic knowledge. The advanced course is for those who have been using IPL for basics treatments but would like to increase their knowledge and offer a wider range of treatments.

Pre-requisites

Certificate IV or Diploma in Beauty Therapy

Training Goals

By the end of the two-day workshop each attendee will understand client selection criteria, as well as the risks and benefits of the following laser and IPL treatments.

Practical

Students are required to perform five photo rejuvenation case studies and five IPL permanent hair reduction case studies.
Case studies involve consultation, photo documentation, test patches, treatment and written documentation.
The training program involves only two students per assessor to ensure a quality learning environment and exclusivity to an IPL system and treatment bed.
The student’s performance and ability will be assessed.

Outcome

All successful students will, on successful course completion, receive their certificate.
