Government Assistance
Under the Victorian Training Guarantee, provisions have been made for Asylum Seekers and Victims of Human Trafficking in Victoria to access Government subsidised vocational and training places in 2011.
Am I eligible for a government subsidised training place?
In 2011 you are eligible for a government subsidised training place if you meet one of the following citizen/residency status:
- Australian Citizen
- Australian Permanent Resident (holder of a permanent visa)
- holder of a Special Category Visa (sub-class 444, New Zealand citizen)
- East Timorese asylum seeker, or
- Holder of a Temporary Protection Visa.
If you are also under 20 on the 1 January in the year when you will be undertaking the course there are no more requirements you are eligible.
If you over 20 on the 1 January in the year when you will be undertaking the course AND are seeking a higher qualification than the highest qualification already held by you then you are also eligible.
You are also eligible for a concession (except for our Diploma courses) if you hold one the following concession cards:
- Commonwealth Health Care Card, or a dependant spouse or dependent child of a card holder
- Pensioner Concession Card, or a dependant spouse or dependent child of a card holder
- Veteran’s Gold Card
Please note that we do not offer courses at Foundation Skills Level or Apprenticeships.
All you need to do: Make an appointment with us and bring the following along with you:
- Resume or CV or a written description of your work experience, educational background, and skills.
- Documents
- Current Passport, fully certified birth certificate, Australian Citizenship Certificate
- ID confirming your address, preferably containing a photograph
- Current Passport, fully certified birth certificate, Australian Citizenship Certificate
