Winner of the 2009 First Edge Award

The IHS Battle of the Colleges is an opportunity for hairdressing college students to demonstrate their creative skills with the support of peers and teachers.

MCOHB produced a themed presentation showcasing the latest trends in hair and fashion. All students were encouraged to participate and work as a team. A team could be selected through an internal competition in which students are invited to demonstrate fashion cut, colour and/or style, presented as a portfolio to be marked locally by college teachers. This could also be used in conjunction with local assessments such as Plan hair for special events, Design and apply short to medium hair finishes, Design and apply long hair finishes, Colour and lighten hair.
